Jim Kisselburgh honored for his contributionsEach year the Section 2 Soccer Coaches Association honors an official who, by his work, has contributed to the game of soccer. This year the award went to Jim Kisselburgh. Jim has just completed his 30th year of officiating high school soccer matches and the quality he demands of himself is still very evident in the job he does on the field. This year, he was an official at over 50 games and 7 sectional games which included the Class "D" and Class "CC-C" Championship games. Further, he officiated a Regional Championship Game. He was a member of the Eastern NY college soccer official’s organization for over 20 years retiring 3 years ago. During his college career, Jim officiated at the highest level of play and worked numerous NCAA tournament games.
Jim served on the EBASOA Executive Committee for 8 years from 1986 through 1994 and served as the organization’s President for 2 years during that time. Jim is a Siena graduate, a former coach at Siena and, with thousand of others, an avid alum and fan of the Saints basketball program. Jim is a true professional in accepting and managing the responsibilities of officiating high school athletics and truly deserving of the Capital District High School Soccer Coach’s recognition of that professionalism. Jim, our congratulations from EBASOA. Section II Overtime same as last yearSection II overtime procedure for Varsity, JV and Freshmen games remains two, SUDDEN VICTORY, ten-minute overtime periods.
